Why Schools Choose Kerry Berry Labs

Teach the skills students are expected to know

Structured learning in hygiene, grooming, hair care, self-care, and personal presentation.

Protect student dignity

No student is examined, ranked, singled out, or asked to disclose personal concerns. Private reflection stays private.

Build real-world readiness

Connect preparation and first impressions to presentations, sports, internships, interviews, college, and work. Natural hair and cultural styles are respected.

Build independent decision-making

Students practice routines, read labels, consider ingredients, and explain product choices instead of following one prescribed routine.

Safety and privacy

Student Dignity Is Non-Negotiable

We teach personal-care skills without evaluating a student’s body, appearance, home routine, or ability to purchase products.

No touching, examinations, or product application

No public hygiene discussions or private disclosures

School staff present during every session

School policies, allergies, consent, and accessibility reviewed in advance

Who delivers the program

Led by Kerry-Ann McLaren.

Kerry-Ann McLaren, founder of Kerry Berry, leads and is present at every session. Kerry Berry holds active NYC DOE vendor approval and carries business insurance, with a certificate of insurance available on request. Background clearance documentation is provided to the school before week 1. Any guest instructor is named in advance and clears the same background process.

Experience grounded in family and product education.

Kerry Berry is a Black female-owned, family-rooted hair, skin, and wellness company. Kerry-Ann brings more than 15 years of product experience and her perspective as a mother of three to every school program.

Products are used only as educational examples for label reading, ingredients, textures, and formulation. Kerry Berry Labs educates students; it does not sell products to them.
